Declarations for the Fairyhouse Jump Racing Weekend promises to thrill racing fans at Fairyhouse Racecourse this weekend. Sunday’s feature races have attracted some of the top Irish trained horses. The Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase has attracted Cheltenham hero First Lieutenant who has already won 2 Grade 3 Novice Chase contests along with impressive Navan winner Bog Warrior and Rivage D’Or who will also be supporting the Gigginstown colours of Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary. The field is completed with Paul Nolan’s pair of Alpha Ridge and Shinrock Paddy along with popular Monaghan trainer Oliver Brady’s Imperial Shabra.
HRI Go Racing Kids Club at Fairyhouse Racecourse

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) held a ‘Go Racing Kids’ Club’ Day at Fairyhouse Racecourse on Tuesday 29th November. There were 143 pupils (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class) from local schools in attendance who took part in demonstrations from RACE (Racing Academy & Centre of Education) and heard talks from Jockey Nina Carberry and local Trainer Robbie Hennessy. Robbie was kind enough to bring along one of his horses called Donegal for the benefit of the children.

Fairyhouse Racecourse has changed the name of the 2-day December meeting featuring three Bar One sponsored Grade One Races. The meeting takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December and will now be called the Fairyhouse Premier Jump Racing Weekend.

Noel Meade and Paul Carberry showed that they are still a combination to be reckoned with by dominating Saturday’s card at Fairyhouse, teaming up to win three of the most valuable races on the day. Leceile got the ball rolling by absolutely bolting up by 11 lengths in the Admission Only 5euro Mares Maiden Hurdle and 30 minutes later Carberry had another leisurely time on Dylan Ross in the New Tote Sports Lounge Maiden Hurdle, with the five-year-old barely coming off the bridle to record a 3½ lengths success. Meade and Carberry’s trebles were completed by the only marginally less comfortable 1¼ lengths win of Texas Jack in the Visit www.fairyhouse.ie For Special Offers Maiden Hurdle.

Fairyhouse Racecourse is delighted to be unveiling some refurbished facilities at its next meeting on Sunday 18th September. The meeting will see the opening of the new Tote Sports Lounge on the ground floor of the Powers Stand. The Fairyhouse Racecourse Members have also been relocated to the Powers Stand overlooking the track in the new Fairyhouse Members Lounge. A new suite has also been created in the area adjacent to the pre-parade ring for winning connections to celebrate and experience again their moment of triumph.

Peter Roe Appointed General Manager of Fairyhouse Racecourse

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) today announced the appointment of Peter Roe as General Manager of Fairyhouse Racecourse. Peter has been acting Manager at the course since October 2010.
