The second National Hunt card of the season at Fairyhouse, there is again ample opportunity for promising young horses to show their talents in one of two beginners’ chases, a maiden hurdle, a bumper and a novice hurdle. The last-named contest is the main event on the day and the 2010 renewal saw the subsequent Grade 1 winner First Lieutenant suffer a shock defeat at the hands of Aughnacurraveel.
