The most valuable Flat race run at Fairyhouse all year is the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes and it takes place on this card. With €150,000 up for grabs, it invariably attracts a strong field, with British-based trainers always fielding a strong team of runners. Indeed, it was a British trainer that provided the race with its most notable recent winner in the shape of Dick Turpin, who went on to be placed in the English and French 2,000 Guineas and win the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly.
Another race on the card worth watching closely is the 7f maiden for juvenile fillies, with the 2010 renewal having been won in impressive fashion by the Aidan O’Brien-trained Classic prospect Look At Me.
