Family Day at Fairyhouse this Sunday
-Free face painters, balloon modelling & ice-cream for all under 18’s-
Racing returns to Fairyhouse this Sunday 15th July following a difficult couple of weeks when rain caused racing to be abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
“The track has dried out over the last two days and with the forecast of only light showers between now and Sunday, we should be all set for a terrific Family Day featuring the Listed Belgrave Stakes this Sunday”, said Peter Roe, Racecourse Manager.
The featured Belgrave Stakes has attracted a competitive field of 8 runners headed by Dunshaughlin trainer Edward Lynam‘s Slade Power. He will face tough competition from the David Marnane trained Santo Padre, Aiden O’Brien’s After, Treacy Collin’s Artic and Tom Hogan’s Gordon Lord Byron who are all rated within 4lbs of Slade Power.
The impressive Curragh winner Blue Corner will be bidding to follow up in the Value Packages at Fairyhouse Race for trainer Michael Halford and owner Sheik Mohammed.
The children’s entertainment for the day will be based in the Jameson stand where the Lambert Puppet Theatre will have 2 shows during the afternoon. The Front Runner team will introduce the children to the joys of horse racing. The Woollywards Animal pet farm will also be in attendance. There will be face painters, balloon modelling and free ice cream for all under 18!.
The Munster Hurling final will be shown live along with the other major sporting events of the day. The race day competition is for dinner for 2 adults and 2 children in La Bucca Restaurant.
Racing begins at 2.35pm and as at all Fairyhouse fixtures children under 18 are free when accompanied by an adult.
