Get Christmas jumper ready for the Fairyhouse Winter Festival

Virtual Christmas jumper competition for Pieta House

Saturday November 28

Ahead of Fairyhouse Racecourse’s Winter Festival on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, the County Meath venue is gearing-up for their annual Christmas jumper competition in aid of Pieta House, which takes place virtually on Saturday November 28, the first day of the jump racing spectacular.

Fairyhouse are asking racegoers to get into the festive spirit at home, wear their Christmas jumpers, share their photos with Fairyhouse on and post photos on their social media channels using the hashtag #Fairyhousechristmasjumpers – the more personalised and creative the jumpers, the better.

Entry to the competition will be available on on Saturday 28th November from 9am to 6pm. Champion Jockey Barry Geraghty will pick the winner who will be announced on Fairyhouse’s social channels on Sunday before the first race.

In return, Fairyhouse are asking everyone to donate whatever they can to Pieta House -

The winner will receive an overnight for two in the four-star Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa and a VIP trip to the 2021 Fairyhouse Winter Festival.

Stable staff are also encouraged to embrace the Christmas spirit and wear festive jumpers on Saturday November 28. The prize for best turned-out horse in each race will go to the groom with the best Christmas knitwear.

Kate O'Sullivan Marketing Manager of Fairyhouse, said: “We have had so much fun with the Christmas jumper competition over the last couple of years and we hope the festive fun continues virtually this year. Pieta House normally host a Darkness into Light walk at Fairyhouse and because it could not go ahead this year, we thought it fitting to nominate them as our charity partner. We appreciate any donations to help Pieta House with their important work.”
