Owners Guide

Whether you have been involved in racing all your life or if you are having your first ever runner, we aim ensure that all owners have an enjoyable experience attending Fairyhouse Racecourse.

Going Report

From entry stage up to the day of your race we will supply going reports on our website and social media channels. Updates are also available from our racecourse team on +353 1 825 6167.

Track

Fairyhouse is a right-handed galloping track, consisting of a 1 mile 6 furlong circuit with a slightly uphill 3 furlong finish. Traditional hurdles are in use on our main ‘outer’ course and Easyfix hurdles are used on our ‘inner’ course.

Racing Surface

Throughout the year our experienced team works extremely hard to provide the best surface possible at all times. We try to provide fresh hurdle ground on the inner rail side as much as possible and we have invested in a high-end watering system to help maintain the track during the flat season.

Travelling From Overseas

Horses travelling from overseas have use of our secure overnight stables. While your horse is staying at Fairyhouse, we will make sure that he/she receives the best equine care available. We will also assist in booking accommodation for grooms travelling with your horse.

On A Raceday

Please ensure that you bring your Association of Irish Racecourse (AIR) badge with you on a raceday. Once you present this card at the AIR turnstile, you will receive complimentary admission, a racecard and a lunch voucher. You can enjoy a one course lunch with tea and coffee in the Owners and Trainers restaurant area above the weighing room. Access to this area is next to the main office. We also have an additional Owners and Trainers bar located in the National Stand on the second floor.

A member of our team takes care of all winning connections and organises a copy of your race for you to take home with your trophy.

Owners & Trainers Restaurant

The owners and Trainers lounge is located on the first floor above the weighing room, overlooking the parade ring. Our owner liaison, Eddie Moran and Jean Sweeny, will be present throughout the day to assist with lunch sittings held for 30 minutes per owner. Alternatively, an exclusive 25% discount in our Bobbyjo Restaurant, with a table for the day, is available to the core owner group with a runner. Please speak to Eddie who can check availability on the day for you, or call the hospitality team in advance of the Raceday on +353 1 825 6167.

Winning Connections Lounge

All wining connections are welcome into the winners enclosure post- race for photographs and the presentation. Make sure to bring any guests in for the photographs - the more the merrier. Post- race celebrations can begin when all will be invited  into the winning connections area of the Owners and Trainers lunge to enjoy celebratory refreshments while re-watching the race. Along with the trophy and the winning photograph (by post) which will be issued over the coming days.

Stable Staff & Grooms Lounge

All stable staff attending Fairyhouse have the use of the Stable Staff canteen located in the racecourse stables. For grooms traveling from overseas to Fariyhouse we will arrange complimentary accommodation for all travelling stable staff, we will also arrange a car or provide transfers to and from the hotel when required. The cost of all the accommodation and transfers are covered by the racecourse.

On a race day grooms have access to the Grooms Lounge located opposite the pre parade ring to relax and socialise in comfort.

Fairyhouse provides a Best Turned Out Prizes for every race during the year in recognition for the time and care they have taken in turning out their horse at the races. A minimum of €50 per race is provided to what is regarded to be the best turned out horse in the race and presented to the groom in parade ring as acknowledgement.
